Core programs support artists of the highest caliber and provide vital links between communities and across generations. The Vicky Simegiatos Dance Company is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide cultural enrichment for the Brooklyn community. Our sponsors include BACA (Brooklyn Cultural Arts Association), New York State Council of the Arts, the New York Life Foundation, and Body Wrappers. We have established, through auditions, a Scholarship Program for talented young students who receive dance training free of charge, and participate in our professional productions.

The School reflects the spirit of the Mark Morris Dance Group in its celebration of dance and music. We believe that the study of various dance forms and music is essential to a child's education and development. We offer a diverse range of classes for all ages and strive to be a center of creative activity for children, community residents and professional dancers.
In addition to incorporating music and singing courses, we are now able to offer more classes overall with the opening of our newest ground floor studio. The recently expanded space also includes a lobby reception desk, ground floor lounge area, bathrooms, and locker rooms. Remember, we offer flexible enrollment plans - per semester or in advance for the full year - to fit your family's needs. If you enroll your child for both semesters at the beginning of the fall season, you recieve a special discount. Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

Our ballroom, one of the largest among the NY area dance studios, regularly holds dance events of over 150-250 people; it can be partitioned into as many as 4 separate classrooms that can, depending on the dance, easily accommodate dozens of students in each.

Torres's mother, a hospital worker; his father an inventive plumber, sparked Eddie's knack for inventing. No dancers or musicians in the gene pool to Eddie's best knowledge.

Classes range from Salsa/Mambo ON 2 (commonly called "New York Style Salsa", "Nightclub Style Salsa" or just "Salsa On 2"), Latin Hustle, Merengue, Bachata, Swing, and Ballroom. Our beautifully new spacious Dance Studio occupies a central location in Glendale, Queens, convenient by public transportation and by car. The Studio's staff possess varied experience and talent in all styles of dance.

Capoeira Angola, an ancient martial art of African origin, is one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. Played close to the ground, Capoeira Angola combines fluid, dance-like movements with kicks, head butts, tripping sweeps and the appearance of playfulness or vulnerability. Music is played on traditional instruments to accompany the players, to teach the rhythmic heart of the art, and also to mask its power. In the eyes of the enslavers it appeared to be a joking and playful acrobatic dance, but eventually its power was realized and Capoeira was outlawed. Death was the penalty paid by those caught playing Capoeira during the slavery era. For almost 400 years Capoeira Angola was taught and practiced in secret, and only in the 1930's did this African martial art become legal to teach and practice.

Wdely recognized as the greatest living choreographer. Earlier in his career he was also one of the greatest American dancers. His earliest dance training was in tap and ballroom dance, with a local teacher, Mrs. Barrett, in his hometown of Centralia, Washington: before he was a modern dancer, Merce was a hoofer. What he also learned from Mrs. Barrett was that “dance is most deeply concerned with each single instant as it comes along.”

Located in New York City’s Greenwich Village, was founded in 1953 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino to develop and train professional dancers. The School continues to strive for the founders’ vision of dance based on rigorous classical training that is imbued with a sense of movement, clarity and exuberant energy.
In more than fifty years of existence, the Joffrey Ballet School has remained on the forefront of American dance education. Graduates of the School have gone on to dance for major classical ballet companies, as well as for numerous modern and contemporary companies, both in the United States and abroad. |

Manhattan’s Largest Ballroom Dance Studio opened in April of 2009. It was our dream to provide students, teachers, social dancers and performance dancers with an elegant, functional space that could accommodate the growing need for teaching and training future ballroom dancers of every age.

Each dance room is equipped with floating floors - two hard wood and one Mylar : 3000 square foot of pure dance space; two lobbies, four bathrooms, vending machines, an office, 10 foot mirror walls, incredible sound, warehouse style ceilings, lighting and funky brick walls to top off this real live Manhattan style space. L.A. Dance is not just a fun place to learn to dance; it’s the hottest thing in town. It’s the coolest place to be and it’s totally up with the times. The students are proud to call this home.
